The Shows
This is what it's all about - the plays, pantomimes, musicals, and other events that we stage!
Coming Soon - 2008
We are planning an exciting range of shows for the 2008 season. We don't have definite confirmation of the dates/venues yet, but they will be posted here shortly.
First up, sometime around Easter, will be Lucky Sods by John Godber. The author of Bouncers and Teachers serves up another slice of ironic humour - the story of an ordinary couple who win the Lottery. You can't get luckier than that - or can you?
In the summer we plan two productions, one for all-male cast, one for all-female. Not a Game for Boys by Simon Block is set in the surprisingly macho world of table-tennis, and The Killing of Sister George by Frank Marcus examines relationships between a quartet of women whose world is changing.
As a larger production in the Autumn, we hope to show [take a deep breath here] The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society's Production of Macbeth by David McGillivray and Walter Zerlin Jnr - which, to keep the description as brief as the title is long, is simply a riot!
Looking back
For the historically-minded, here is a [currently incomplete] list of all the shows the Lansbury Players have given over the years.
